I say this as we just saw (with Kathy sans kids) the House of Dancing Water for the first time. It was fantastic!
Kathy has catalyzed our ability to do things and be exciting. Such a dynamo, that Kathy.
We also went to the Venetian Jazz Festival. It was fun, hot, and they were chintzy with the purple beads for some reason this year. The girls liked the Chicago dancers - anything with some sparkle works like a charm for them.
Then yesterday we just got back from the piece de resistance - Hong Kong Disneyland. Matt and my wee project from 9 years ago... so much more meaningful with kids to show. The girls are much more impressed with Matt's hotel handiwork than my theme park contributions - but I talked his up a lot more as well. Charlotte told me she wants to grow up and build hotels and be a daddy - just like Daddy.
We stayed the night at the Disneyland Hotel - we stayed in a Kingdom Club suite which was magical for Charlotte and Sophia (the all day food was a treat for us too). It is funny knowing before the park opened about the kiddie robes and watching them in action with your own kids - sort of a circle of life kind of thing (ha!).
We rode Small World, Winnie the Pooh (the crazy elephant scene was too much for her), The Lion King show, the Jungle River Cruise, and the parade (the kids are more scared than not so rides require a lot of coaxing). I snuck in a Space Mountain ride. The park was so not busy yesterday - a fallout from the Hong Kong protests I am sure. Beautiful weather... it was a perfect day for the park.
I asked Charlotte what her favorite part of the Disneyland day was... and she said "Everything!" Sophia echoed her sentiment (literally).
As a final note- the girls did a walk-a-thon at their school this morning. It was cute and a perfect weather day for it (as you can see I am in love with the weather recently).

Loving their live music:
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel robes!
Matt designed this pool (in some capacity) and also the slowest pool slide ever:

I love this shot:
Matt apparently designed this hedge maze too - in between parting the Red Sea (in Charlotte's eyes):
Balcony shots:
They do this amazing thing where Mickey or Minnie have a pajama meet and greet before bedtime at the Kingdom Club:
Sophia - though scared witless - offered Minnie her Minnie Mouse sticker:
We changed the girls into pajamas once we realized we were the only ones there not wearing them:
Enjoying our room:
Storytime via telephone:
Disneyland!
Char breezes by on the Carousel:
Small World:
Despite the short lines on Dumbo (which never happens) - this display elephant was the closest Charlotte got to riding:
Matt outruns the spitting Tikis - sort of:
Lion King. Char kept asking why Scar wanted the power so much:
Lunch at Grizzly Gulch's area:
Ice cream break:
D is for Drake:
Parade waiting. The girls got so many stickers - even the HKDL 'Jammitors' have their own Goofy sticker!

I am so happy Sophia is in this photo with (scary) Mickey:
