We spent the afternoon at the indoor water park in Wausau - very fun (albeit a bit expensive). Charlotte finally had a go at a 'grown up' slide (though not enclosed - that is the next step). Sophia warmed up after a while and went on a kiddie slide.
We had breakfast with Grandma Betty too - Sophia has been a bit ornery with this kind of picture taking:
Shirley took us to the beauty school in Wausau - which was the scene of Sophia's hungry/tired meltdown (one of many!). Here at happier moments:
Back in Madison - we visited Brooks and Ruby:
Charlotte tries (and likes!) a cheese curd!
With a post ice cream treat:
And Grandma made homemade chocolate chip cookies:
And we ventured with Cora to the Nau-Ti-Gal - Sophia's favorite place for dancing:
And we walked on our dock:
The fake foxes didn't scare us:
We spent the day at the Madison Children's Museum - a bit expensive for what it was at the girls' age we thought:
Screwing around with my camera - but a cool photo here:
Turtles:
And then we went to the Corn Festival in Sun Prairie - 2nd year running!
We loved pick a duck - Matt finally realized this was not really a game because everyone wins (35 years later):
Grandpa took the girls on a convertible ride afterwards. Sophia passed out:
Annual Jet Room photo:
We visited DB and Laura in Cross Plains. They are building a vineyard / wedding venue!
The girls enjoyed swatting flies:
