November 7 - Halloween and Capoeira Roda, Kids Competition and Batizado

Greetings from Hua Hin!  We are on a little break - and at the moment Sophia has an upset belly so I am in the room keeping her company while she naps.  Check out the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin - right on the beach with a bunch of stuff right outside its doors.

Matt was in Thailand last week playing hockey in a tournament - that he won.  Yay!

Meanwhile we were home building a house around our play kitchen:

And making Halloween goody bags:

And they dressed up for school for Halloween - Tinkerbell and Aurora.  Thanks Auntie Jen for the dresses!  This was a rare occasion that I let the girls wear makeup:

Sophia danced to Thriller - sort of:

Then there was a roda (Capoeira circle) last friday night - kicking off this massive Capoeira weekend:

They put Matthew and Char in the roda together - Matthew is crazy fast!

Hayden/Formiga is super aggressive these days!

Rustam from Kazakhstan was awesome!

And we had a brief trick or treating moment (Char wanted to wear a more comfortable princess outfit for our 2 house outing):

Then - off to the kids capoeira competition:

Sophia is Fofinha:

Sophia's first competition... ever.  And she was the first competitor too!

She won!

Round 2:

Win again!

Sophia went against the brilliant Benjamin and got 2nd - but what a great run!

Char was next:

Against Sophia's buddy Lucas:

Char won!

And she won the 2nd round:

Char then went up against the brilliant Lara - and got 2nd:

A great fun day - Matt also won his hockey tournament on Saturday too!

Day 3 - Batizado (the Graduation where everyone gets a new belt):

Lots of demos and talks from esteemed guests:

Sophia gets her belt:

There was mass happiness:

Then Charlotte got her second belt:

I got a surprise award - Most Supportive Parent - thank you Capoeira family for that:

Matt attempted to get the super impossible group shot:

Thanks Tracy for our family 'winners' shot:
