Week 188 and Week 100.5 - The Disney pilgrimage!

Nov 11 marked the day that Sophia turns 23 months (counting the days till the end of breastfeeding!) - it was also the day that we went to Disney with our girls (and my first time visiting the park since leaving work for them in 2006).  Jisun and Chris were in town and we met up at Hong Kong Disneyland.  We first went to the character breakfast at Enchanted Garden at Hong Kong Disneyland - at 7:30 which would be crazy without kids but perfect with them!  We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel - eerily perfect for our demographic (2 kids, 2 parents, even Imee can all fit in one room).  Sophia did not join us for the character breakfast - as we caught a glimpse of Mickey Mouse on Sunday night (he being the consummate host at Chef Mickey's) and Sophia was so freaked out - I think she gnawed off part of Matt's collarbone.  Serious howling involved.
Sophia did end up seeing characters - mostly from afar at Disneyland - and she was ok with them.

Charlotte was ok with the characters- but not ok with the dark!  She did not like Mickey's Philharmagic or Golden Mickeys or Winnie the Pooh.  We had to walk out of Golden Mickeys during the Quasimodo sequence.  It will be good to go back to Disney again in a year - hopefully the girls will be over their respective phobias (likely to be replaced with other ones!).

In an unrelated note-  Sophia is now counting to ten (coherently) :) and telling me to "get away" :(.  We also learned while at the pool at the Hollywood Hotel that she LOVES the Beach Boys!  Matt has found his rock and roll kindred spirit in Sophia.
